


Sergey is a London-based conductor, pianist, and vocal coach with an international career spanning opera, recital, and education. He is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied under Malcolm Martineau, and currently serves on the music staff of the Royal Opera House’s Jette Parker Artists Programme.
In recent seasons, Sergey has worked on major productions at houses including the Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne, Teatro Real Madrid, La Monnaie (Brussels), Welsh National Opera, and English Touring Opera. His roles have ranged from conductor, assistant and cover conductor to répétiteur, vocal coach, and offstage conductor.
In 2025, he returned to Teatro Real for Eugene Onegin and The Tale of Tsar Saltan, and assisted Paul Daniel on Die Fledermaus for The Grange Festival.
Highlights previous seasons include assisting and cover conducting Eugene Onegin at the Royal Opera House, conducting a nationwide tour of Giulio Cesare for English Touring Opera, and returning to Glyndebourne for The Merry Widow and Carmen. Sergey also performed Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine with soprano Paula Sides at the VOCES8 Centre, coinciding with the release of their new CD, and gave recitals in China with mezzo-soprano Hongni Wu at Shanghai Symphony Hall and Xinghai Concert Hall.
He has previously collaborated with esteemed conductors including Evelino Pidò and Paul Daniel on productions such as La Bohème, The Queen of Spades, and Cavalleria Rusticana/Pagliacci at ROH. Other notable recent productions include Der Rosenkavalier (Glyndebourne), Lucia di Lammermoor (ROH), Khovanshchina (WNO), The Fiery Angel (Teatro Real), Turco in Italia and Le Nozze di Figaro (Glyndebourne), and RhineGold (Birmingham Opera).
Sergey’s summer festival work includes positions with the Mediterranean Opera Studio (Sicily), the Oxenfoord International Summer School (Scotland), Scuola del Belcanto (Urbania, Italy), and The New Generation Festival (Florence), where he has returned on multiple occasions.
Appointed Vocal Consultant to English Touring Opera’s Music Advisory Board in 2021, Sergey continues to support emerging artists and contribute to the broader operatic landscape in the UK and abroad.
As a recitalist, he has performed at major UK festivals including Oxford Lieder, Leeds Lieder+, Hampstead and Highgate Festival, and Beaminster Festival. He has collaborated with many distinguished singers such as Joan Rodgers, Justina Gringytė, Katherine Broderick, Nelly Miricioiu, and Sergey Leiferkus.
Sergey began his career working with City of Birmingham Opera, English Touring Opera, Garsington Opera, Opera Holland Park, and Grange Park Opera. His versatility as a musician—across languages, styles, and repertory—has made him a sought-after collaborator across the international operatic scene.
